The intimate stories we tell ourselves.
Why do I photograph boudoir, and how did I get into this nude art form? Words often fall short when I try to express the profound impact boudoir photography has had on me as both a woman and an artist. It’s a realm beyond just photos—a celebration of self-acceptance, body love, letting go, and beautiful artistry. From the moment you enter my studio to the moment you leave, the experience of boudoir transforms you. It’s more than just a glamorous session. This is an opportunity to envision your unique style, unleash your belly laugh, and embrace the depth of your being. It’s about feeling beautiful, deeply, and every woman deserves to feel a profound connection with her own body.
I started photographing boudoir photography because I’m an artist with an eye for light and form, and I am able to see the natural beauty within every woman. Through my camera, I capture and reveal an exquisite allure that often goes unnoticed. When women have a glimpse at the stunning images I create, they are often shocked. So often we doubt their own beauty due to societal pressures and unrealistic body standards. But I love witnessing their transformation as they realize they, too, radiate undeniable beauty. Seeing other women’s reactions to their own pictures, changed me. From that moment on, my passion for this art form has only expanded.
My role is to be your mirror, reflecting back the extraordinary essence that simmers beneath the surface. Not the world’s mirror that casts judgment and shame, but the one that sees past any perceived imperfections—the lumps, the bruises—and reveals your authentic sparkle. It’s an honor to guide you on this empowering journey of self-discovery, where you’ll witness the incredible beauty that has always resided within you.
As you step into our sacred studio space, it’s completely normal to feel a wave of nerves washing over you. We’ve seen it time and time again—shaky hands, nervous faces, and voices filled with anticipation. But let me assure you, the magic begins to unfold the moment you settle into the chair for your hair and makeup with our beautiful makeup artist, Miranda. Slowly but surely, the layers of nervousness and anxiety start to melt away, leaving space for your authentic radiance to emerge.
When the session starts, I guide you through a series of poses that gradually warm you up to the camera. And when I share that first glimpse of an image on the back of the camera screen, brace yourself for a moment of awe. More often than not, I’m met with a breathless “WOW! Is that really me?!” That’s when the magic truly begins and you settle into the intimate studio space and your body.
As we move from one series to the next, something transformative happens. Laughter fills the room, genuine smiles light up your face, and a newfound sense of confidence starts to emerge. We slip into flow. Your eyes take on a sultry allure, and it becomes undeniable—the connection between your inner and outer beauty is alive and thriving. By the time we conclude the session, we’ve become dear friends, sharing intimate stories and moments that will forever be cherished.
And then comes the moment of revelation. As I present your curated collection of images, prepare to have your breath taken away. You’ll witness yourself through my eyes, through the eyes of your loved ones—a vision of beauty. This is the incredible power of boudoir photography—to be your mirror, reflecting back the extraordinary essence you possess. And as we wrap our time together, a beaming smile will stretch across your face, excited to share your experience with friends who you know, deep down, need to feel this too.
I didn’t quite grasp the gravity of this art form until I became pregnant with my third baby in 2018. For over a year, we were trying to conceive (“infertility after baby” is what they called it), and once I became pregnant, I knew that I wanted to photograph my body as I entered into this last pregnancy. It was as though my soul needed to remember the stretch marks and roundness of my mothering body in a beautiful and meaningful way. This is when I discovered intimate self portraiture. You can see more of my own more recent boudoir self portraits here.
Over the next 9 months I explored my body through art. I intimately learned the lines on my skin, the angles of my face, the pieces of me I loved and the pieces of me I didn’t yet love. I shared personal stories and images of myself online, and learned my voice as an artist. To say this time in my life was transformative would be an understatement. To celebrate my evolution, I booked my own boudoir photoshoot as a present to myself.
My own journey into boudoir has morphed into a crucial part of my own self care. My time to be alone, to reconnect with my breathe, my body, my sensuality. To create images that make me feel good and allow me space to get out of my own head. To me, boudoir photography is a beautiful celebration of your body, your essence, and your authentic self. A love note. It fills me with gratitude to be able to guide women on a transformative path of embracing their bodies, their triumphs, and their past. Allow me the honor of unveiling your inner sparkle, igniting the flames of self-love and pride that burn within you on this incredible journey.
